Monica I. Salis grew up in New York City and attended New York University (NYU) in New York, New York. While at NYU Ms. Salis was awarded The New York University Founder’s Day Award for Outstanding Scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude in 1979. Ms. Salis received a scholarship to University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida; and graduated with a Juris Doctorate Degree, Cum Laude in 1982. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1982; to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, in 1983, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in 1989 and was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1999. Monica I. Salis has attained an AV Preeminent Rating under the respected Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review which is the highest peer-review rating possible. Her legal career began in 1982 with the practice of Complex Securities and Commercial Litigation. In 1991 Monica I. Salis opened her own practice and has devoted her practice exclusively to Marital and Family Law including Divorces (complex, contentious and uncontested), Paternity Actions, Post-Judgment Modifications, Relocation Actions, Alimony, Domestic Violence, Child Support, Custody and Timesharing, Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements, Marital Settlement Agreements, Personal Partnership Agreements, Family Law Arbitrations, Guardian ad Litem Services and Special Master Services. Ms. Salis is a Broward County Volunteer Guardian ad Litem and also accepts Appointments as a Guardian ad Litem in cases where the parties have been ordered to compensate the Guardian ad Litem. Ms. Salis has actively volunteered her time for Legal Aid Broward Lawyer Care providing pro bono services in Family Law Matters; and volunteers for Broward Partnership for the Homeless. Monica I. Salis is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, and The Family Law Section of the Florida Bar Association.
